Coloma broke away from the very beginning with the Rumanian Vlad Dascalu who was second and his teammate Catriel Soto who was third. Furthermore, Coloma has turned Superprestige’s GC around wining it for the second time in a row (it consist of four UCI cat. Races). Josep Durán had to relinquish on the GC but he clinched is first position in U-23. As for women, Raiza Goulao rode on her own for the whole race crossing the line ahead of Rocío García (Academia Coloma) who won the overall and U-23 classification. Meanwhile, María Rodríguez finished the race in fourth position.
Regarding the juniors, Miriam Palacios could not complete her poker of victories in Superprestige as a crash burdened her second half of the race. She finished third. Nevertheless, she achieved the first place in the GC likewise in the Spanish Open as well as David Campos who was second in Moralzarzal with enough points to win the GC and conclude a successful first half of 2017. Didac Carvacho finished in fourth position.
Raiza Goulao: Everything has run very well. I loved the circuit, it was gnarly and allowed us to make the most out of our Mondraker. I enjoyed the downhills as never. Every day, I feel better within the structure of the team and I have to be grateful for everything they’re doing for me and taking care of me while my altitude training in Sierra Nevada. Now, it’s time to focus on the next world cup in Andorra where I hope to get at my fitness peak.
